Afternoon/ Evening

Arrive in Buenos Aires – Argentina in the morning, where you will be met by your guide after passing the customs area and then transfer (1h) to your Own Hotel Palermo Soho. One night, in a junior suite with balcony

After breakfast, meet your guide and transfer to the domestic airport Jorge Newbery (AEP/ 30 minutes drive) to board your flight to Iguazu (IGR). Upon arrival meet your guide and visit the Brazilian side of the falls.

Declared “World Heritage Site” by the UNESCO. Located on the border of the Brazilian state of Paraná and the Argentine province of Misiones, the falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The waterfall system consists of 275 falls along 2.7 kilometers (1.67 miles). Some of the individual falls are up to 82 meters (269 ft) in height, though the majority are about 64 metres (210 ft). Two thirds of the falls are within Argentine territory. About 900 meters of the 2.7-kilometer length does not have water flowing over it. The edge of the basalt cap recedes only 3 mm (0.1 in) per year. The water of the lower Iguazu collects in a canyon that drains into the Paraná River at Argentina, shortly downstream from the Itaipu dam.

Visit the Brazilian side of the Falls.

Arrival at the Visitors Center, at the entrance of the Iguassu National Park, about 10 kilometers away from downtown Foz do Iguazú. Short stop to see the exhibition and continue onto the National Park, along a paved road that will take us to the magnificent Iguassu Falls. Start a walking tour along the catwalk, measuring one kilometer of easy hike, with several panoramic views of the Falls and a close-up to the Devils’ Throat.

It is a completely different tour when compared to the Argentine side, since you get in front of the falls, as if you were on a balcony. We recommend you to see the falls from both sides. The tour ends at the upper part of Iguassu Falls accessed through a panoramic elevator; from where you get to a lookout point with a view to the upper Iguassu River. Return to the hotel. Overnight: La Cantera hotel in a jungle room.

Visit the Argentine side of the Falls.

Full day visit to the falls (argentine side) and to "Devil's gorge". Visit to the upper and lower paths around the waterfalls surrounded by lush jungles abundant in plush-crested jays, reddish-bellied parakeets, toucans and coatis.

UPPER PATH: A 500 mts walk (45 minutes), with great views of the Two Sisters, Bosseti, Adam and Eve, Bernabe Mendez, Mbiguá and San Martín falls from the upper part.

LOWER PATH: 1.300 mts walk (1 hour and 30 minutes), to get a different view of the falls, from above. DEVIL’S THROAT: Board a little train that will take you for 4 km to the Devil´s Throat Station, surrounding the upper part of the Iguazu River. Once arrived, take a walkway to the balcony of Devil’s throat (Garganta del Diablo in Spanish). This is a U-shaped, 82-meter-high, 150-meter-wide and 700-meter-long (490 by 2300 feet) cataract, the most impressive of all, that marks the border between Argentina and Brazil.

Inside the Iguazú National Park (Argentina), big trucks will take you to explore 6 kilometers in the humid subtropical forest, as far as the banks of the Iguazú River, downstream from the Falls. Once at the shore, board special zodiac boats for a ride to get direct and wet contact with the mighty Iguassu Falls. Crossing one mile of rapids, the boat gets into the devil's throat canyon approaching the water falls, ending the adventure in front of San Martin island. Return to shore. Catwalks will take you back to your vehicle.

After visiting the Falls, private transfer to Iguazu airport (IGR). Fly towards Buenos Aires.
Reception at the domestic airport (AEP) and transfer to the hotel, OWN Grand Palermo Soho HOTEL in one Junior Suite with Balcony.

The most important sights of Buenos Aires arise from the centerpiece of this half-day tour. Start driving through the narrows streets of the old city and the broad avenues that mark Buenos Aires modern growth. On South America's broadest avenue, 9 de Julio Avenue, we see Colon Theater and the “Obelisco”.

Around the “Plaza de Mayo” (May Square), we will see the “Casa Rosada” (Pink colored House, which houses the mythical balcony from where Evita used to address people), the Cathedral (with the mausoleum of General San Martín, Argentina´s independence hero), and the “Cabildo” (Town Hall). We continue our way through May Avenue, that joins the “Plaza de Mayo” with the Congress, with its Art Nouveau buildings, old hotels, theaters and cafes.

We continue our journey towards San Telmo, a neighborhood of bohemians, artists, antiques shops and cobbled streets. We will pass around Dorrego Square, where each Sunday thousands of tourists and “porteños” (Buenos Aires inhabitants) visit the antique fair that is held there. Our tour goes on to the neighborhood of La Boca, with its colorful tenements, where a lot of artists open their studios and workshops. We will walk along the mythical street of “Caminito.

We continue our visit in Puerto Madero (formerly: “The Docks” port area). In constant development, this gentrified neighborhood was totally redesigned in the nineties. Its new residential area, very close to the river, houses three design hotels, chic restaurants and exclusive apartment buildings.

We head towards the north where we will stop at San Martín Square, surrounded by elegant buildings with French architecture, and one of the most aristocratic areas of Buenos Aires.

We continue our tour in the traditional neighborhood of Palermo, strolling along its large parks, rose gardens and lakes, the porteños favorite place to practice sports or give long walks, we end our tour in Recoleta district, one of the most fashionable parts of the city, which includes South America's most opulent and extraordinary cemetery, the resting place of Eva Peron. Estancia Cristina was founded in 1914 by Joseph Percival Masters, an Englishman who came to Patagonia with his wife in 1900. They had two kids: Percival Herbert Masters in 1902 and Elinor Cristina Masters in 1904. Mr. Masters named his home Estancia Cristina in honor to his little daughter. They lived in tents set near the lake for the first year. Needless to say, the first years were times of hard work, effort and restraint. The estancia grew and had up to 22,000 hectares of land surrounded by glaciers, snow peaks and lakes of great natural beauty. Cattle then consisted of 27,000 sheep, 30 cows and some 50 horses. When Mr. and Mrs. Masters died, the estancia went into Herbert´s hands, who was then married to Janet Mc Donald. Herbert died in 1984, leaving Janet to manage the property alone. Janet died in 1997. Nowadays, the idea is to keep well alive the history of this family who -with the effort and endurance common to every old pioneer - left an everlasting mark in this unique region.

After breakfast, early pick up for a 30-minute drive to Puerto Banderas. Departure at 8.15 am on board of modern and comfortable ships. From the rangers station you start hiking up the hill towards Mirador Ferrier, the terrain is very steep and we gain altitude very quickly (550 mts ascent), walking through a beautiful lenga forest and some open areas exposed to the wind. At the windy lookout you have spectacular views (depending on weather conditions) of Grey Glacier, Paine Massif, Paine river, Lago del Toro, etc. The descent is same way, very steep, make sure your knees are in good shape for 2 hours of fun.

Time lunch near Hosteria Grey and some rest before your next hiking. Departing from the ranger’s station you cross a hanging bridge over Pingo river and head 10 minutes towards the beach through a forest where often some Austral Parakeets can be seen. A verdant peninsula jutting out below Cartagena and lapped by the glass-clear waters of the Caribbean, Baru Island has long been touted as one of Colombia’s most serene beach resorts and deservedly so. The aptly named Playa Blanca is the undeniable highlight, an expanse of powder-white sands, where you can sip cocktails and tuck into fresh seafood on the beach, enjoy water sports like jet-skiing and speed-boating, or while away the afternoon swimming and snorkelling.
Baru Island is also the gateway to the Rosario Islands National Park, a cluster of islands renowned for their colorful corals and a popular destination for scuba diving and snorkelling. Overnight in Cartagena.

The tour begins with a visit to the “Convento de la Popa”, where the city’s highest point is located and you can enjoy the best view of the beautiful city of Cartagena. This convent was built in the 17th century by the Augustinian Monks. Initially it was just a small wooden chapel, but later it was replaced by a strong construction which still remains.

Continue with a visit to the “Castillo de San Felipe”. This castle was built by the Spaniards in the 1600s and it is the greatest and strongest fortress ever built in a Spanish colony. Located at the top of San Lázaro hill, its purpose was to protect and guard the city’s landward side from any attack or invasion. This fortress provides a complex system of tunnels connected with strategic points to distribute provisions and facilitate a possible evacuation. Additionally, the tunnel’s architecture was built so that any noise would echo along them, in order to make internal communications easier and hear even the slightest sound of the enemies approaching.

Afterwards, a walk through “Las Bóvedas” is included. These 23 vaults were built in the 18th century and they are considered the last major colonial construction made within the city walls for military purposes. The vaults were used as storerooms for munitions and provisions by the Spaniards, and later on, they became jail cells. Nowadays, they are used as crafts markets where you can find handicrafts, antiques, galleries, jewelry, clothing and souvenirs, among other things.

At the end of the tour you will take a walk through the inner walled section of the colonial city. Discover Cartagena’s rich history and beautiful colonial architecture where you will admire the old houses, stunning balconies and different little squares.
