The tour is 2.5 hours and it is appropriate for: All ages, but this is an outdoor nature walk through our plantation, and it is not designed for small children due to the ongoing discussion and complexity of the guided presentation and cupping.

AM: NATURAL HISTORY WALK IN ARENAL HANGING BRIDGES

You will go through the abundant biodiversity existent on the natural reserve. A naturalist guide will open you the doors of the fascinating and colorful tropical rainforest world through his knowledge of natural history. Also, you can visit the new attraction on the Waterfall Trail and enjoy the beautiful Waterfall inside the rainforest. The imposing views of the Volcano from the hanging bridges over the forest make a perfect combination for an unforgettable experience.

PM: LA FORTUNA WATERALL RESERVE:

La Fortuna Waterfall Reserve, where over 4 000 ml precipitation a year give you the chance to enjoy this majestic 210 feet high fall. A five hundred meters downhill hike will give you the chance to see it from the very bottom where a “natural pool” awaits if you want to swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river.

This tour begins visiting a unique open air butterfly garden, a very different concept from cover gardens, because all the landscape has been set up with nectar and host plants recreating a natural environment to attract local butterflies from the surrounding trees, every day becomes a singularity due to the visit of different species. Now we are ready to take the trail to the waterfall base and its crystal clear waters. Along the trail, carved into the hillside, you will observe plants, trees, and animals, which inhabit the area like sloths, toucans, orioles and more. You can choose to swim in its refreshing waters, take amazing photographs, or simply relax and take in all of the beauty of the La Fortuna Waterfall.

The fastest and best way to Monteverde by far. A bus will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Lake Arenal where a covered boat will be waiting to take you across the lake to Rio Chiquito. A 1 ½ hour scenic jeep ride will take you from here to Monteverde, culminating this transfer of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.

MONTEVERDE:

Monteverde Cloud Forest was founded about 40 years ago by a small group of conservation-minded Quakers who were looking for a peaceful place to live. Its Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most outstanding wild life sanctuaries in the tropics. This high elevation rain forest offers miles of trails with excellent opportunities for bird watching. The resplendent Quetzal is often sighted up here (mostly January to July). It is for this reason that more visitors are attracted to this private reserve than to any other in Costa Rica.

A mystical cloud forest with a beauty beyond imagination, amazing walks through hanging bridges, breathtaking forest views and wildlife observation. Monteverde offers a large variety of activity options like: Bat tours, Night walks, Butterflies or Orquid gardens or zip lining.

NIGHT WALK AT MONTEVERDE:

Discover the creepy crawlies, the iconic tree frogs and the big-eyed mammals that come out after dark. Careful where you step! Experience the magic of the rainforest by night as you uncover the hidden world of unusual nocturnal creatures. A great opportunity to see frogs, kinkajous, and other rainforest-dwellers before dinnertime.

This combined tour consists of Canopy, Butterfly Garden & Hummingbird Garden + ziplining.

The tour is the only zip-line tour built entirely inside the cloud forest. In this tour, visitors cross through the unique cloud forest canopy suspended over the forest while attached to high weight-capacity cables and using the specialized climbing gear. This provides wonderful experience and sensations only comparable to flying through the forest. This tour not only combines the thrill of one of Costa Rica’s most safe and popular adventures, but also provides a unique vantage point of the cloud forest which in the past was reserved only to certain scientists brave enough to climb up to the forest canopy.

The tour features a large Tarzan Swing where those with an adventurous spirit will surely get a blast. The Tarzan Swing is a side activity included in the tour where the visitors have option of swinging through the forest while attached to a high security rope.
The Canopy Tour features 13 cables, including a 1 km cable, 15 platforms and one Tarzan Swing. There is a total of 2.2 miles of total cable length. It is suitable for people of all ages although it’s not recommended for certain people with extreme weight excess or pregnancy.

HUMMINGBIRD GARDEN

At the hummingbird garden, the visitors will observe more than 14 different species of hummingbirds including a few species that are not commonly seen in the Pacific side of the continental division of Monteverde. At the garden the relaxing ambiance and with beautiful natural floral arrangements provide a perfect setting for natural photography lovers. The hummingbird garden is also a perfect rest or picnic area.
